I loved Gojo Guest House! Sleeping on the traditional futons and tatami mats was a unique experience. The Guest house is cozy and comfortable. I would definitely come back on my next trip!

- A convenient location, with a great ramen place down the road, plus many pottery stores - The guesthouse combines the beauty of traditional Japanese house with the casual comfort of backpackers - The cafe/bar downstairs makes good coffee, and a mean highball for 300 yen - a great place to hang out - The staff are friendly and helpful. They want you to have a good time and they know how to make it happen.

前にも、東京の上野で同じタイプなホテルで泊まったことがありましたから、来る前はだいたい予想ができます。でも、予想以上に雰囲気がいいし、部屋は古いけど、きれいで日本風で好きです。スタッフもとても親切です。できればホテルでゆっくりしたいです。居心地いいです。機会があればまた来ますよ。

Travelling is a wonderful thing especially when you come from the other side of the globe and you still feel like coming home. No matter if it's shining or raining, smiling staff was always there to help us. Whether it was about tips to make our journey even more special or just lending an umbrella. And when we were too exhausted to go anywhere, we just went to cafe downstairs, chatted and played games with people from all-around the world. And hey,,,who cares about sushi or temples when you can get the best honeybutter-toast in the world!

The ultimate Japanese hostel experience. warm & lovely place with warm & lovely people like a family. Traditional style accomodation was wonderful. Best hostel I've ever stayed at in Japan. Awesome place to stay,felt like I was at home! Very helpful + welcoming staff. The location was ideal and within walking distance/biking distance of many major sites.
