In Kyoto, there are temples and .......Gojo Guest House. After a day walking through the city, I was eager to go back to the guest house, have a beer, meet new people, in this very nice, clean, warmful and welcoming place and I must say that the whole crew is very nice, smiling and always ready to help. My daughter and I spent 4 nights at the Gojo Guest House. I liked it a lot. It has a ton of character. It is a fusion of bohemian art space, traditional Japanese and youth hostel. Be prepared for something a little different. Many attractions are within walking distance. I paid extra, for a 3-futon room, for privacy. It worked out well for us. The staff were multi-lingual, very helpful and serve a good cup of coffee! M.G.

I feel like I've made friendships that will lost few longer than my stay here it's been so short. またぜったいにくるよ。 I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Gojo House. I've had such a great time here, I extended my stay - and still don't want to leave. I've made some great friends, the staff are so friendly and the atmosphere is excellent. It's a wonderful place to base yourself in Kyoto. I'll definitely be back.

Gojo was our favourite guest house in Japan. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to break the language barrier and help out whenever possible. Gojo Guest House houses a mixed clientele of both Japanese and internation travellers. All of which give the place its character and make for a great experience. I would happily recommend this guesthouse to anyone as its a wonderful place and also offers a taste of true japanese culture. I thank everyone for making it what it is. Thank you for everything!

A friendly and international staff that was helpful in every aspect of our stay. From bike rentals to restaurant recommendations Gojo Guest House exceeded all our expectation,the location was also key, a short bus ride away from the station and about a 10min walk from the bustling Kiyamachi and Gion area. The bed was comfy, the staff was cool, the curry was yummy, the shower was hot and the beer was cold. What else do you need?? I will be back. Traditional Japanese style backpackers, with great company and food how can you ot have an awesome time. Would definitely stay again. Cheap but very comfortable.

Had a great week. Gojo is very convenient and yet is very quiet at night. Clean + confortable with excellent service from all the staff, value plus. Highly recommended. Provision of inexpensice bikes is a bonus. (Marek) We really enjoyed our stay here. The facilities were excellent. Staff were extremely helpful especially with advice. Friendly atmosphere. Gojo is an excellent place to relax and meet great people in a traditional Japanese setting. Chill music plays morning to night, and the drinks are great (sake!) , I recommend Gojo to all life-loving travellers.

I really think that the Gojo Guest House is good value for money. The traditional rooms combined with modern art exhibits are really great. However, perhaps the washers and dryers could be labelled more clearly, abroad the dryers here look like washers!

I stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Gojo Guest House. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very friendly. The drink vouches and free internet are very good. The location is great, midway between the station and Gion. It is easy to walk to both area, even at night. I am a female traveller, travelling alone and I always felt safe and comfortable.

Very pleasant guest house in an old style. Not too far from busy streets. We have had the pleasure to have a concert of unexpected music in the evening. Very quiet - maybe you should add that guests should refrain from making noise before 6:30 in the morning... :)

Nice atmosphere, kind people and great Japanese style rooms! You can get to know a lot of guys from all over the world. Kiyomizu-dera is near the hostel and supermarkets, too. The hostel is cheap and shower and so on is inclusive. I recommend it!

Great place, totally tipical, well located, clean and confortable. Beautiful quiet Japanese atmosphere. Nice staff, helpful and good English speaker, is highly appreaciated. Air conditioner works well in the room, and the showers are basic but good enough.
